My favorite part in the story is when Leigh gets picked to go on the trip.  He was excited and he got the privilige to go even though he didn't win first or second place.  Also, another favorite part is when Leigh invites Barry over to eat dinner with him.  Leigh had been eating at Barry's  house ever since they first met.  Leigh didn't think that Barry would come because he might not want to stay there with a lot of little girls sitting around playing with drumsticks.  Then when they went to Leigh's room, Barry sees that Leigh has a sign on his door that says "KEEP OUT!  MOM THAT MEANS YOU!" Barry wished that he had one of those signs to keep his little sisters out of his room.  He does have an alarm in his room that will tell him that his siters have been in his room.  His sisters like to go in his room and play with the alarm.  Barry's mom got so sick and tired of them playing with it that she told him to unplug  it.  Both boys laughed about it because they were glad that they finally did something and it almost worked.

Everyday when Leigh comes home he always writes in his book, which he calls a diary.  He uses this when he is sad and he was feeling sad.  He would always come home from school and go out in the butterfly house.  When he couldn't find his diary he would go out there and ask himself were  all the butterflys went and how many are in the house now.  No matter how he tried to keep his mind off of his dad, he couldn't because he loved him too much.  Leigh couldn't forget about him even if he tried.  So, he had to go and call his dad.  When his dad answered he told Leigh that he was about to order a pizza with another women and her son.  Leigh didn't like the fact that his dad was going out with another women and her son.  Now he starting to feel really "jealous".  Leigh is feeling this way because he doesn't like that his dad might marry this women.  Leigh asks his mom why she won't get back with his dad.  His mom looked into his eyes and said  because your father will never grow up.  He didnt like the way she talked about him so he dropped the whole conversation and started another one.  Leigh thought his mom was talking about his dad in a mean way and he didn't like it.
